“Eyes are the mirrors of the soul”
Although I love to paint our beautiful countryside, my favourite subject is portrait.
Whether human or animal, I start with the eyes and the connection is made. There is so much character in a face and each one tells a story even when it’s covered in fur !
I grew up in Hertfordshire and after leaving school, attended St. Albans School of Art where I studied life drawing, painting and graphic design.
I continued to sketch when I had time when my children were young to keep my interest alive.
During my working career, my colleagues liked my art and asked me to complete a steady stream of commissions which was great for discipline and practice.
I have exhibited at Art in the Park in Cheltenham for many years and also at various venues in the County.
I enjoy using a variety of mediums but mainly paint in acrylic or water based oils.
I am continuing to learn different techniques to develop my style and keep my artwork fresh and vibrant.
