Dear Artist,
I am writing to you as someone who has hired the gallery for exhibiting your work. You may have already seen that In two months time, on Saturday June 11, the first En Plein Air Art Competition is to be held in Cheltenham.
Registration is now OPEN
Come and make art in the regency elegance of Cheltenham’s Montpellier Gardens.
Open to traditional (as opposed to digital) 2D artists of all ages media and styles, the criteria to get your work judged by our expert panel is that your entry is started and completed in the gardens on the day, within the time allotted, and is made in direct response to the surroundings.
The event will conclude with an easel exhibition where judging and direct sales to the public will take place. A good selection of work will be retained for a 3 day exhibition in The Gallery.
As well as a £500 first prize, sponsored by Gardens Gallery and a £250 prize for the runner-up, we also have a £100 contemporary landscape painting prize, a £100 drawing and illustration prize sponsored by Friends of Montpellier Bandstand and Gardens (FOMBAG) and a youth prize for 14 – 18 year olds.
We hope that many of our artist friends will participate.
